In 1992 the Finnish Government asked Purcell Miller Tritton to project manage the refurbishment of the Finnish Ambassador’s residence at 14 Kensington Palace Gardens. Since that time the brief has expanded to include the upkeep of the Finnish Embassy in Chesham Place, Belgravia and the re-planning and refurbishment of the Finnish Arts Institute in Holborn.

The Ambassador’s residence is a listed building and refurbishment works and re-planning works have been carried out on the ground floor, basement and the ancillary buildings. The upkeep and maintenance of the building has been managed by Purcell Miller Tritton for the last nine years.

The Embassy which is also a listed building has been maintained for the last seven years and various improvements have taken place within the building.

The Arts institute has been completely re-planned and each year one floor has been totally refurbished and the interior changed from the standard speculative interiors which the building had when bought to a standard and interior which is Scandinavian in its lay out and materials.

It is the intention that the exterior of the building will also receive similar re-working in the next few years. The building is in the centre of the regeneration area of Camden but all funding has come directly from the Finnish Government.
