This private residence is a four bedroom new house built in the former vegetable garden of a large detached Victorian house. The innovative design is a circular plan around a courtyard containing a fir tree. The design provides for natural ventilation of the main spaces using the stack effect of a glazed hall containing a curved timber stair.
The materials are red brick, natural slate and cedar boarding, traditional buildings used in a non-traditional way. Underfloor heating and a high level of thermal insulation was provided.
