CLIENT Arsenal Football Club plc
PROJECT Conservation Plan and Advice
The Practice was appointed by Arsenal Football Club plc to give advice on conservation matters and to prepare a conservation plan for the Stadium as part of major plans to redevelop it for residential use following the Club's transfer to the new Emirates Stadium at Ashburton Grove. Our scope of work included guidance to the design team on conservation matters and representation at meetings with planning authority officers and English heritage.
The existing East Stand is listed Grade II; the West Stand is of similar design and date but is unlisted. The intention is to remove the terraces and to divide the spaces enclosed by the external walls with new internal walls and floors to provide new apartments on seven floors. The North and South Stands are to be replaced by new apartment buildings of similar height. The pitch is to be retained as an open space and landscaped to create a formal garden.
