Leading architects and historic building consultants, Purcell Miller Tritton, have announced that they have merged with one of Bristol’s foremost architectural practices, Niall Phillips Architects.

Niall Phillips Architects have an outstanding record in the areas of both new-build and conservation and have recently completed the iconic Wolverhampton Art Gallery project. This £6.7 million scheme included the repairing and upgrading of the nineteenth century building and also involved the creation of a new radical triangular gallery extension.

Niall Phillips, commenting on the merger said, “We are delighted to become part of the Purcell Miller Tritton family and are looking forward to working with this prestigious group of architects.”

He went on to add, “Most of our projects are new-build and therefore I believe we are a vital element in the continuing development of Purcell Miller Tritton and its already varied portfolio of projects.”

Niall Phillips Architects’ new-build work includes involvement with the recent completion of a £3.5million visitor centre for Cardiff Castle, a new residential centre for Dillington College in Somerset, as well as finishing a world heritage resource centre at Blaenauan in Wales.

Mark Goldspink, CEO of Purcell Miller Tritton, said, “We have been discussing extending our operation to the Bristol area with Niall Phillips and his team for just under two years so we are delighted to have concluded our negotiations successfully.”

He went on to add. “ We are looking forward to adding Bristol to our other nine offices in the UK which gives us a strong geographic spread and enables us to service most types of projects whether heritage, hotel or new build.”
