A grade 1 Listed building and also the site of a Scheduled Ancient Monument, the project involved the refurbishment of the building and the redisplay of the museum. It addressed the need to provide a shop, modern interactive displays and access for disabled people. This included relocating the principal access point, the installation of a new lift into the heart of the building and reconfiguring the landscaping to include ramped access and an impressive yorkstone stairway. A ground breaking project which offers a solution to access problems.
